Clinical Instruments for Treatment and Follow-up of the Patients with Headache

Abstract

|
One approach to assessing and optimizing treatment of primary headache disorders is the use of headache diaries. Instruments used for the grading of disability and quality of life provide an objective goal for the treatment of headache disorders. So, the Korean version of MIDAS (Migraine Disability Assessment), HIT-6 (Headache Impact Test-6) and MSQoL (Migraine-Specific Quality of Life) questionnaire can be useful tools. However, a new, single outcome measurement is needed including patients’ satisfaction, treatment planning, monitoring and optimization for both acute and preventive pharmacological therapies: HURT (Headache Under-Response to Treatment) questionnaire can be helpful. Thus, the selection of instruments and the interpretation must be carries out with prudence.
